Manage stock & inventory
Sohoj Dokan gives you two separate, independent controls for inventory. You decide whether to simply show counts or to actively stop orders when stock runs out.
Steps
- Open the product and go to the Advanced tab.
- Turn on Track Inventory to enable stock tracking for this product. Stock counts are then shown — this on its own is just informational.
- Enter the Stock Quantity.
- Turn on Prevent Overselling if you want orders blocked when there isn’t enough stock. Without this, customers can still order even when the count reaches zero.
- Save the product.
How stock is counted
- Track Inventory controls whether counts are tracked and displayed.
- Prevent Overselling is what actually enforces the limit at checkout.
- When Prevent Overselling is on, stock is reserved (decreased) automatically the moment an order is placed.
- If a product has variants, stock is tracked per variant — set each variant’s stock on the Variants tab, separate from the product-level count.
Note: The two toggles are independent. You can show stock counts without blocking orders, or block overselling without showing counts to shoppers.
