Point of Sale (in-person sales)

Updated

Point of Sale (POS) lets you sell in person and record the sale in the same place as your online orders. Stock, orders, and receipts all stay in one system.

Steps

  1. Go to Advanced in the sidebar and turn on Point of Sale.
  2. Select Manage next to it to set your receipt options (tax display and a footer note), then choose Open register — or open Point of Sale from the sidebar.
  3. In the register, scan a barcode or search products in the Scan barcode or search products… box, then add items to the cart. If an item has variants, pick the one you’re selling.
  4. Adjust the Qty for each line, and change the Unit price if you’re selling at a different price.
  5. To discount the whole sale, enter an amount in Manual discount (৳).
  6. Select Charge, choose the Payment method (Cash, Card, bKash, or Nagad), and enter the amount received. For cash, the change due is shown. You can add a customer name and phone (optional).
  7. Select Confirm sale. The sale is recorded as an order, and you can Print receipt, send it by WhatsApp, or Send SMS receipt.

Note: POS sales run through the same order system as your storefront, so stock counts and your orders list stay in sync automatically. If you only take part of the amount, add the customer’s phone so you can track and collect the balance later.

Using POS on your phone

You do not need a computer at the counter. POS works on a phone in two ways, and both record sales to the same orders list and keep stock in sync.

In a phone browser

Open the web dashboard on your phone and go to Point of Sale (once POS is turned on, it also appears in the More menu). The register switches to a single-column layout:

  1. Search or scan in the box at the top, then tap a product to add it. If the item has variants, pick the one you’re selling.
  2. Tap the cart bar at the bottom to open your cart, where you can adjust the Qty, Unit price, and Manual discount (৳).
  3. Tap Charge in the sticky bar. For cash, enter the amount received on the on-screen keypad — the change due is shown in large type and updates as you type.
  4. Select Confirm sale, then use Share receipt to send the receipt through your phone’s share sheet (WhatsApp, SMS, or any other app you have installed).

In the merchant app

Open the Sohojdokan merchant app and go to More → POS. The app’s register does everything the web register does — product search, SKU lookup, tap-to-add, variant chooser, quantity, price override, cart discount, Cash / bKash / Nagad / Card charge with change calculation, and receipt print, WhatsApp, or SMS — plus camera barcode scanning: tap the scan icon in the search bar, point the camera at the product’s barcode, and the item with the matching SKU or barcode is added to the cart.

Note: POS appears in the app only when the POS module is turned on under Advanced and enabled in Settings. The first time you scan, allow camera access when your phone asks.

What’s next
